Eider update
Unfortunatly I was unable to assist this year in the eider count and banding the state does.  However I have heard from Brad Allen the waterfowl biologist who organizes the outing.  Numbers are up!  Birds numbers have been down the last 2 years.  The crew counted 500 nests, captured and banded 128 hen eiders.  They also recaptured 60 hen eiders, and observed 2 broods.  Hopefully next year I will be reporting these numbers first hand.

Maine Turkey
"B" season opened this morning at 4:50 and ended for me personally at 6:30.  25lbs 3ozs Maine wild turkey.  Nice and heavy, many other big toms are being taken in my area.  If you are still looking for a guided turkey hunt for 2008 in Maine look no further.  3 other Toms where with my big boy.  One perticular longbeard refuse to cooperate today so he could be yours.
