Maine Seaduck Guide Service is your best choice for a
Puffin Cruise. Yes, we may cost a bit more than other cruises, but we have a different goal. Our goal is
to get your small group up close to the birds for the pictures you want. We spend approximately 4 hours on anchor viewing
the birds, the rest of the time is cruising to and from the launch. We will use our waterfowling blind on the boat and decoys as
needed to get these birds up close. Patrick has had these birds a mere five feet overhead, and has been close enough to
get pictures of leg banded and mating birds.
Our Puffin cruise also is a morning venture. We
recommend an early start, and like to be back ashore in the afternoon. Give us a call (207)-841-1530 and we will arrange at
'sailing time' that fits your vacation needs. Trips longer than 6 hours are available with a hourly rate of $150 per hour
beginning after the 6th hour. Safety is always first so our cruises, like all our charters, are weather permitting.
We reserve the right to stop a trip due to unsafe conditions at our discretion with no refund.
Capt. Patrick is Coast Guard licensed, and we carry all safety gear on-board and prioritize safety. Groups
up to 4 persons only. While we have had 6 persons before, it is just too crowded. Your
comfort is important to us, 2-person parties are optimum for photography.
These trips are out of a Bankes Goliath duck hunting skiff. The boat is 21' long, and there
are no facilities on board. What goes in must come out! We believe in frank talk, that
said we are hunters. But like you we are also birders year round. Many birders dislike hunting for personal
reasons. We believe our love of birds, makes us uniquely qualified to lead your group to an up close and
personal Puffin experience. If our common love of birds is not something that links us then please call
one of the larger boats for your at-a-distance, crowded, and quite short Puffin trip.
